Finalists for BREW High-stakes Pitch Competition Selected

BATON ROUGE, La., Thursday, October 24 — Four companies have been selected as finalists for the BREW 2019 High-stakes Pitch Competition, which is offering a $100,000 investment prize to the winning company at a live pitch event on Friday, November 15. The finalist companies are Block Lawncare, Gilded, Moxey, and Pass It Down.

Each of the four companies was selected after an initial pool of 44 total applicants was narrowed to 11 semi-finalists by a team of judges with extensive knowledge and experience in identifying investment potential. Each of the eleven semi-finalist companies submitted a detailed business plan for review before giving closed-door pitches to a panel of judges comprised of accredited investors, who selected the four finalists. All four finalist companies will receive six hours of financial consulting from LaPorte CPAs and Advisors, as well as six hours of legal consulting from Stone Pigman law firm in preparation for the final live pitch.

“These four companies have demonstrated their preparedness and ability to grow and make significant impact in their respective markets,” said Genevieve Silverman, President & CEO of NexusLA. “Narrowing the pool down this far was an extremely difficult task for our judges, given the quality of the semi-finalists. The live pitch event will definitely be a great show, and our judges have quite the task ahead of them in picking a winner.”

The live pitch competition will be held on Friday, November 15 at the Lyceum and will be the final event of BREW 2019. Tickets for the live pitch are $10 and are available at www.celebratebrew.com.
