Baton Rouge Company Selected for Startup of the Year Award Competition

Baton Rouge-based Block Lawncare is an on-demand lawn care startup that provides services, pricing, and scheduling all through an app.

Block has been named one of the Top 100 Rising Startups chosen to compete at the seventh annual Startup of the Year Global Competition and Summit in Memphis.

Ninety nine other innovative startups and entrepreneurs with game-changing products will have a chance to showcase why they should advance to the top five and receive up to a $100,000 investment.

“We are so honored and excited to represent Baton Rouge at Startup of the Year. It’s a thrill to get an invitation to a prestigious competition where alum companies went on to be very successful. We’re really looking forward to the experience and relationships that we will gain over the week as well as the chance to share about the company we are so passionate about.” shared Block CEO and co-founder Matthew Armstrong.

The Block team said the Summit is a great opportunity to showcase the app to potential partners and customers. “We released the app earlier this year and our customers have given us incredible reviews so far. The future is exciting and we can’t wait to share what we have in store with potential investors, influencers and the greater startup community,” said Jacob Jolibois, co-founder of Block.
